You can transfer funds from your brokerage account to your Indian bank account anytime. Simply enter the amount, submit a withdrawal request, and the funds will be credited to your account within 1-3 working days.

As an Indian Resident, due to compliance reasons you can only use an Indian bank account to add to your brokerage account USD Balance.

Note: The name on your bank account should match the name on your PAN card. You can transfer funds using only the bank account you verify after the account opening process is completed.

There are no minimum amount criteria you need to add to invest in US Stocks via our broker partner. However, we recommend adding at least $100 to your brokerage account USD balance.

Money that is sent outside India must go through multiple compliance checks and follow RBI guidelines. It usually takes up to 4 working days after the transfer is initiated for the money to reflect in your brokerage account USD Balance.

Since investing in US stocks involves international transactions, the method to add USD to Broker account balance is different from the method for adding INR. You need to transfer money from your bank to the account of our broker partner. After the transfer is complete, our broker partner will update the amount in your USD balance.

You can link up to 3 bank accounts to your US Stocks account. You can choose among any of these US Stocks linked bank accounts to transfer funds to your USD wallet.

9Point Capital charges ZERO fees for funding your USD balance. For any foreign funding transaction, banks generally charge a forex conversion rate and a service charge plus GST for every outward remittance. Depending on your bank, this may range from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000. There are no other hidden charges for funds transfer.

The foreign exchange rate is set daily by your bank.

Under the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between India and the U.S., no tax is deducted on capital gains in the U.S. for Indian residents. However, in India, capital gains tax is applicable on profits from U.S. stock investments. Long-term capital gains (for holdings over 24 months) are taxed at 12.5%, while short-term capital gains (for holdings under 24 months) are taxed according to the applicable Indian income tax slab.

If you receive a dividend, your U.S. tax liability will be 25% (subject to the DTAA). This tax will be withheld before you receive your dividend, meaning you’ll receive 75% of the dividend amount in your brokerage account. The good news is that you can claim a foreign tax credit for the U.S. tax paid, which can be used against your tax liability in India.

As per the Finance Act (2020), the TCS rate for remittances under the Liberalized

Remittance Scheme (LRS) for investment in foreign assets are as follows:

• If the remittance exceeds 10 lakh in a financial year, TCS will be applicable @20%.
• For amounts up to 10 lakh, TCS is levied @5%.
